Child Rapist sentenced to consecutive life terms without parole

2/19/2016

Cleveland –A Cleveland man has been sentenced to two consecutive life terms without parole for raping two six-year-old female victims, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty announced today.

Between January and April 2013, Kabron Norman, 42, raped two six-year-old twin sisters. Norman frequently babysat the twins and their older brother, who were the children of a family friend. The victims reported that Norman raped them anally and forced one to perform oral sex. After witnessing Norman rape his sisters, the 8-year-old brother immediately told his mother, who alerted authorities.

A 12-count indictment, including charges of Rape, Kidnapping and Gross Sexual Imposition was issued in January 2014, and the case went to trial on November 30, 2015. After the State dismissed two counts, the jury deliberated on a 10-count indictment. Despite the testimony of two defense expert witnesses, a Cuyahoga County jury found Norman guilty of all ten counts.

Today Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Joseph D. Russo sentenced Norman to four discretionary life terms without parole and ordered that two of them be served consecutively.

“Life without parole is a gift, compared to the trauma felt by these two six-year-old girls and the heartache felt by the jury. This jury witnessed one victim demonstrate her jaw being pried open in order to commit a sex act, an image that will forever be embedded in the memory of all who were present in the courtroom,” said Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Ronni Ducoff, who represented the State of Ohio along with Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Anne Kiran Mikhaiel.
