Four Convicted Rapists Sentenced 30 to Life in Unrelated Cases
Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that four defendants in separate, unrelated cases were convicted of rape and were each sentenced this week to a minimum of 30 years in prison.
“These sentences in four different cases demonstrate our work in protecting our community from rapists and bringing justice for the victims” said Prosecutor O’Malley.
Case 1: On March 27, Maurice Johnson (upper right
), 24, was sentenced to life in prison for the rape of his 60-year-old step-grandmother, who is disabled due to the effects of multiple sclerosis.
Case 2: On March 27, Samuel Park Sr (center
), 65, was sentenced to 33 years. Park Sr. pled guilty to 20 counts of rape for sexually abusing his granddaughter from approximately age 6 to age 14.
Case 3: Also on March 27, Eric Buchanan, 38, was sentenced to 30 years in prison. He was convicted for the 2013 kidnapping and rape of a 17-year-old girl he abducted from an RTA bus stop at West 85th Street and Lorain Avenue.
Case 4: On March 28, Isaiah Meadows (lower right)
, age 31, was sentenced to 33 years in prison for the rape of a 23-year-old Cleveland woman. He carjacked the victim at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her. He then led police on a high-speed chase and was eventually apprehended after he crashed the victim’s vehicle in East Cleveland.
