Two Women Indicted for Murder of 5-Year-Old Girl

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley announced that a Grand Jury indicted two women for the death of 5-year-old Ta’Naejah McCloud.

Tequila Crump, 26, the child’s mother (above right), and her partner Ursula Owens, 37, (below right) are charged with multiple counts of Aggravated Murder, Murder, Felonious Assault, and Endangering Children.

On March 17, McCloud was admitted to University Hospital in full arrest. Owens claimed the child had a seizure, however, doctors discovered the child suffered from severe head and brain trauma as well as older injuries including burns. She died on March 21.

“This is a horrific case of child abuse,” said Prosecutor O’Malley. “These women had no regard for this young life and need to be held accountable for their actions.”

Owens and Crump are being held on $1,000,000 bond. Arraignment has been scheduled for April 6.
