After 22 Years King Sentence Vacated

A hearing was held this morning to vacate the sentence of Evin King, who has been in prison since 1995 after a jury found him guilty of murdering his girlfriend. He will be released from custody today.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O'Malley announced on April 18 that the motion was filed based on forensic evidence presented at King's trial that has since been determined to be inaccurate.

"The State must pursue justice. After learning of the current analysis of the evidence, I believe that it is my duty to vacate Mr. King's conviction," said Prosecutor O'Malley.
