Deondre Bonner Sentenced to 55 Years in Prison for Raping Three Teenagers at RTA Station

CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that Deondre Bonner was sentenced to 55 years in prison for raping and robbing three female teenagers at gunpoint on November 4th, 2017, at the Shaker RTA rapid station located at the intersection of Shaker Blvd. and E. 116th Street.

“This man sexually assaulted three teenagers,” said Prosecutor O’Malley. “I commend Judge Collier-Williams for the sentence she imposed.”

Bonner, 34, approached the three teenagers (ages 17, 17, and 18), pulled out a handgun and forced them to an area off the station’s platform. He repeatedly threatened the victims, stating he would shoot them all in the head if they did not comply.  He then raped each of the victims while pointing a gun at the other victims forcing them to watch.

Bonner took the victims’ purses, cell phones and cash before the victims ran and flagged down a nearby Cleveland Police squad car. Bonner threw his weapon on the ground and ran in the opposite direction.

Shortly thereafter, Cleveland Police officers arrested Bonner who was hiding in bushes near 11311 Shaker Boulevard.  He was in possession of several items that belonged to the victims.  Police also found a BB/pellet gun near the crime scene.

Bonner pled guilty to five counts of Rape and one count of Aggravated Robbery.  He was sentenced today to 55 years in prison.
