CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that Bobby Weatherspoon, 51, was sentenced to six and a half years for eight burglaries in Shaker Heights, Bedford, Cleveland Heights, and Cleveland.

“This individual is a lifelong criminal who has made a living out of stealing,” said Prosecutor O’Malley. “Our communities are in a much better place with this thief locked away.”

Weatherspoon committed the following crimes between June and October 2019:

June 12, 2019: Weatherspoon broke into the victims’ (ages 83 and 60) home on East 118th Street in Cleveland while they were gone and stole jewelry and purses.

Later that morning, Weatherspoon drove the stolen vehicle to another victim’s (39) home on Paul Street in Bedford while she was gone and attempted to steal property out of her garage.  The victim arrived home while the crime was in progress and confronted Weatherspoon.  He got into the stolen vehicle and drove away, striking the victim’s vehicle with her two children (17 and 14) inside.

October 24, 2019: Weatherspoon broke into three separate garages/homes in Shaker Heights. He stole car keys, wallets, credit cards, and numerous yard tools – including an electric saw, leaf blower, weed whacker, battery charger, and ladder.
